Biennale Dance
The festival will complete the three-year project that director Ismael Ivo has planned on the theme of the body. The body as desire -Body & Eros- will inspire choreographers and dance companies from all over the world. The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement will be awarded to Pina Bausch.

Biennale Dance
5th International Festival of Contemporary Dance The Body & Eros festival goes live at the Arsenale venues and the Teatro Malibran from June 14th to 30th. The program includes 15 companies and 31 artists and choreographers who will present almost exclusively world premieres. Two cycles of workshops for choreographers and for dancers will be part of the festival program. Dance section
The Dance section of the Venice Biennale was established in 1999 and directed by Carolyn Carlson in the period 1999-2002. In 2003, Frédéric Flamand was appointed as director, then followed Karole Armitage in 2004 and Ismael Ivo in 2005 and 2006. The next festival Body & Eros, will run June 14 to 30, 2007, directed by Ismael Ivo.
